Glen Oro Farm | Destination Ontario

In Southern Ontario, people were moonstruck by the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. Although it will be decades before a similar cosmic phenomenon reoccurs, Ontario offers more opportunities to experience celestial wonders this year.

The intensity and frequency of solar activity roughly follow an 11-year cycle. The peak of this period is called a solar maximum, and researchers predict the sun will reach it in 2024. For sky gazers and star chasers, this means more favourable chances to witness unique events like the northern lights or meteor showers and to view twinking and shooting stars, planets and constellations.

Similar to forest bathing, star bathing is a purposeful activity. Retreat from the bright lights and urban bustle to the serenity of Ontario’s dark skies and tap into the meditative power of mindful stargazing.

Plan a star bathing getaway in Ontario.
